Health and fitness have always been an important part of Jessica’s life. Growing up, Jessica was involved in cross-country and sports and eventually decided to pursue sports medicine as a career.
Jessica attended California State University, Long Beach, originally intending to become a physical therapist. But once she began personal training, she knew she had discovered her true passion. Helping people reach their fitness goals and personal potential has became much more than a job to Jessica; it is personally deeply fulfilling and allowed her to do what she loves most, on a daily basis.
Jessica changed her major and in 2007, obtained her B.S. in Kinesiology (exercise science). This is something she is very proud of and is of great benefit to her clients, as many personal trainers simply take a very basic certification program, lacking Jessica’s extensive and specialized education.
Jessica truly enjoys staying up-to-date on the latest in nutrition science and fitness industry advances, and makes a point of applying this knowledge to her everyday life. She remains current on health and fitness issues so that she is always ready and able to offer her clients important tips and answers to their questions.
In the last 5 years Jessica has become very involved in the NPC Figure Competitions, she has competed in three NPC Competitions and place in the top 5 every time. Her most recent victory was at the 2010 Emerald Cup in April, where she placed 3rd among some very difficult competitors. The Emerald Cup has a reputation for being one of the most competitive amateur competitions in the nation. She is a Nationally qualified competitor and will be debuting at the 2010 NPC Nationals. Her love for competing has led to her love for fitness modeling. She has done photoshoots with some of the best in the industry.
Jessica has taken a break from photoshoots and competitions, due to a back injury, but she is not done. She is still training and has maintained her status as a premier trainer. She married the love of her life on December 13. 2014. She is now Jessica Ryan Hood, but will continue her training business as JRJ (Jessica Ryan Jordan) Training. The Hood’s relocated to Midland, Texas in October 2013, where Jessica rebuilt her business there from late 2014-Jan 2018. The Hood’s are relocating again to the Houston area and Jessica will begin to re-build her business for the third time, but in Katy, TX.
