Well, the time is here! This is the moment the last 14 weeks have been all about.  I will be boarding a plane tomorrow to Atlanta to take on the largest NPC competition of the year, NPC Nationals 2010.  After competing two weeks ago at the NPC San Francisco, where I placed first in my class, I have made some improvements in my conditioning and overall I am really happy with the way everything turned out.  I have given 120% everything is officially out of my hands at this point; it comes down to the judges (well and how I pose on stage).

Since the San Fran competition I have dealt with quite a bit of life situations, but have held strong and pushed through it all.  Just this last Monday, my brother in law, was admitted to the ICU, he had a minor heart attack at 30 years old.  I got a call late Monday night, I went to the hospital Tuesday, it all turned out ok and is just a wake up call more than anything. It is crazy how life times out events they way it does.  I am so thankful for my family, they are always there for me, regardless of any situation and this definitely pulled us all a little bit closer.  He will be out of the hospital Thursday, thank god!  It would have been really hard to focus out in Atlanta knowing he was in the hospital.  This competition definitely has a lot of meaning to me, not only for myself, but also for my family and clients.  Everything I do in my life has a purpose and I feel I have truly found my purpose and where I fit perfectly, it is on that stage, showing off what hard work and dedication can do. Now with my family going through this, they can appreciate what I do, a little more than they already did and maybe listen to me ;)  You never know what challenges life will bring you, the timing may not seem great at the time, but later on you may realize the timing couldn’t be more perfect!

I want to thank Greg (my boyfriend) who has stood by me through this whole prep and encourages me to keep going when all I want to do is crawl up in bed and close my eyes.  I would also like to thank all my family for understanding my lifestyle and always being supportive of my goals, my friend and workout partner Erica, who has pushed me through some “epic” workouts the last 14 weeks. Also, my clients and friends, you all mean so much to me, thanks for all of your support!
