My Journey to Nationals- 11 weeks out!

August 2nd, 2010-  Well, I have to say it but a few weeks into my contest prep and I feel GREAT! I feel so motivated, determined and strong! I am training hard and my diet is perfect! I have roughly 11 weeks to go until stage time. My weight hasn’t done much since I started my prep, but I am still trying to put on a little bit of lean muscle! I have just started dropping my carbs this week, just by a pinch.  My cardio is intense and so is my training. I will not be posting any pre-comp pics, but will inform everyone on how I am doing throughout my journey!

The hardest part about prepping for competition is trying to help people understand that I choose this lifestyle.  It gets a little frustrating when people ask me, “when are you going to stop competing and just live your life?”  Guess what people, I AM LIVING MY LIFE!!! I do what I do because I enjoy it! Yeah I do have days that I don’t want to get up and do my cardio, then train and do another round of cardio, then repeat almost every day of the week, but that is life.  I am sure everyone has days they do things because they have commited themselves to a goal, they may enjoy the journey in reaching their goals, but there are going to be some days they will need to just push through! I mean how can anyone go through life without goals? I feel like we need to define our lives through the goals we reach and the goals we set to reach, without them our lives are going in no specific direction.  I need direction and goals, that is why I LOVE competing, it helps define my life and the direction in life I want to go! It surrounds me with people that have similar interests and it makes me a better trainer! There is so much to learn from going through a competition prep, competing, and then doing it all over again.  There is always a new goal, a new journey to be had, new obstacles to push through, and new friends to meet along the way!
